Sometimes it seems like we live in a dull, grey world. Well I've found a way to change it.

Music runs through my mind like a river, Send shivers down ya spine hopefully, Don't wanna be kickin' with the nobodies, Yo body better groove when I bring it, Get a move on, (HIT IT!) I feel like a genius, Einstein, Leave ya speechless, Designed to let your spine unwind, one time. I bring it hot like a god of fire. Breakin? Think not, thinkin' carbon fibre. Awaken! Stream of consciousness, Murakami, Thoughts makin beats, and the beat pass by me. Hermione, makin magic with a keyboard, never be bored, Music so good, I'm always gonna need more. Seeds or stems, branches and leaves. Words are gems, flashes one perceives, And they grow, in one's mind, thoughts roaming. Leave the darkness behind and let your third eye open. Life's a drugged up cow, high steaks. Never let a hater go and judge things that I make. I'll take a sip from the cup of life, savour it. And here's a tip, don't give up on music, pay for it. Cos music has value, and adds to how we livin' If music changed your life like mine, think about givin'. In return for all the hours, days and years spent training, You'd be amazed at what was spent to give you entertainment.

Wanting Love 02:21
Hi guys, sorry, I'm on ambien so... it's, um You said earlier that if you ask for love the world will send you love back, But I've been asking and asking And I haven't gotten fucking anything. Hoping and waiting and wishing and wanting love, Hoping, hoping for love has fucken ruined my life. That can't be the deal, that can't be it! I'm really sorry Hoping and waiting and wishing and wanting love, That can't be the deal, that can't be it!

We were alone Side by side. You told me I should change, What I did wrong. I see, These mistakes remake me. I choose to change I choose to change, choose to change for me. Livin' without you won't be hard, I guarantee, But will you be lost without me? The past is something that you can't undo, Life's changing without you. I'm not alone, Though You may be. You, speak now. I don't hear. It's me who remakes me. I choose to change, choose to change for me.

Retrospect 04:01
Verse 1 Set the scene, background noise on the screen, I'm poised to make a move, I succeed. I say I'm sick and so I'm not sure, what for? You reply, it's fine, it's starts. Here comes the score. Up the ante, I'm thinking "More, why not?" Camera pans, see the door locked, Yeah? Sure, fine, hot. I'm ready? (I'm not ready.) Hands on hands on more than that, I'm torn, in fact I can't go on. Hold up, I'm thinkin’, that's fair, you understand that, right? Ya see, I'm not prepared, we didn't plan the night. So what if I'm the first of my kind? My mind's not made up. Still not gonna go leaping in. Sneaking grin, see the passion leaking in. We gotta stop, but you're not listenin’. But I guess I Live and let live, I Forgive and set the tone, Forget and then condone, In retrospect, forget respect, To get respect, you'd get consent, You're not perfect. (Me neither) I suppose that you think that the blame is mine, And I'll accept that, I can see the claim's defined. And so you see in prose, I sink that shame's enshrined, And so crept a hand, free. Tamed? decline. But as time goes on, things settle, Let all the crimes go, wrestle with the past. It's not stone cast, so why not enjoy it. Maybe that's the choice that destroyed it? But tie knots? Nah, I redeploy. Let go, my flow, undisturbed by past events, Triggers? No. Perturbed by lasting discontent? (Yes) I'll accept that? (No) I forgive that? (No) I'll admit that though I made mistakes I grow. Verse 2 But why is this relevant, why in rhymes, elegant? Why say this now, when it's no longer prevalent? Why critique what you can't change? It is evident, That you intend to cause purely detriment. Why bring yourself so far out of your element? Why are you choosing to ignore the petulant? Why must you delve so far into this pestilence? Normally you try so hard to celebrant. Whoa! I never said that. I never chose to ignore the facts, damn The fact that you think that I'd close myself off from this, Shows that you clearly did not understand. Hold up, I had a new thought; If music is meant for expression then why, When I find I'm twisting and turning at night, Can music not be what these feelings incite? Verse 3 Fear, that's what I felt then. Clear like a line from a felt pen. A year before I got that checked lens. But I got the ear of my best friend. And I won't forget, but the past is past now, In retrospect, I shoulda cast my doubts, how, Could I let it go on for as long as I did? I didn't know I would ever have to let it get to this, but here we are.

I mean, Jessica, I, I. I should somehow do a Jedi Mind Meld These aren't the droids you're looking for, These aren't the droids we're looking for. You don't want to sell me death sticks. Uh, I don't want to sell you death sticks. You want to go home and rethink your life. I want to go home and rethink my life You will remove these restraints and leave the cell with the door open. I will remove these restraints and leave the cell with the door open. You don't need to see his identification. We don't need to see his identification He can go about his business. You can go about your business. Move along. Move along, move along. I can't understand how we got by those troops, I thought we were dead. The force can have a strong influence on the weak-minded. Clearly this is not the most important event that is taking place in the white house today, there is a screen of 'Star Wars' Clearly the most important event in the White House today is a screening of 'Star Wars' Ok everybody, I gotta get to "Star Wars'

A Night Walk 03:28
Stars, melting in the sky There's sound, music in my mind. Thoughts, in time with what I feel Feelings, thoughts of you. What else can I do? Lonely, by your side but lonely Separated, continental separation. Night time, darkness and desire Sound and rhythm, echo my desire.

about

This latest album of mine is a collection of works written and recorded over the course of 2017 and early 2018. It shows, quite prominently, my love for both jazz fusion and hip-hop, combining them in various ways to create what I consider to be a benchmark for myself going forward.

I would like to give a big thank you to my two guests on this album; my dear friends Sophia and Lily on vocals and flute respectively, both are talented musicians who I am grateful to have had lend their talents to this project. Without them, I would not have been able to realise the compositions of which they were a part. I would also like to thank a third friend, Kai Clark (@ayhdorkc on Instagram), for his beautiful album cover.

Excluding the contributions of my guests, everything you hear on the album was created solely by me; composition, production, all the parts, the works. I don't usually like to brag, but once in a while, it's earned. So much of what I have accomplished on this album wouldn't have been possible even 6 months ago. As much as it is a piece of artistic expression, this album is a testament to my growth as a musician, producer and composer. Here's to whatever comes next.

Enjoy!
